PasMa president Datuk Phahrolrazi Zawawi has led the splinter group of PAS members since it was started in September last year. – The Malaysian Insider pic, January 12, 2015.A delegation from the Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera (PasMa), a pro-Pakatan Rakyat NGO within PAS, held a closed-door meeting with Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at his office in George Town this morning.News of PasMa president Datuk Phahrolrazi Zawawi leading the delegation to meet Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, broke out on social media today, leading speculation whether it was held to strengthen ties between the two parties. When asked about the matter, Lim was coy, saying it was "just a meeting", adding it was no different to how other NGOs drop by his office too. When pressed for details, he declined to elaborate, and only added that the delegation included the NGO's representatives from Penang, Perak, Kedah and Kelantan. The visit comes on the heels of a fractious relationship between PasMa and PAS, since it was formed after the Islamist party's leadership clashed with its Pakatan partners, especially during the Selangor menteri besar crisis and PAS's attempt to enforce hudud in Kelantan by way of a private member's bill in Parliament. On December 15, the PAS central committee issued a circular to members forbidding them from having any involvement with PasMa's activities. Two weeks later, Phahrolrazi said PasMa will no longer send invitations to PAS to attend their programmes following the directive. He said future invitations would only be sent to PKR and DAP, as PasMa respects the decision of the PAS leadership. – January 12, 2015.MORE TO COME
