Thus, I urged all parties to take this seriously," he said.Meanwhile, a religious authority today warned that the entertainment culture from Korea or K-Pop was dangerous to Muslims as it was a tool to spread Christianity and liberalism. The deputy mufti of Perak Zamri Hashim said with Christianity and liberalism seeping into the society, the pillars of the Islamic faith would be "removed one by one" if authorities did not take any action."Bollywood brings about religious pluralism while K-pop brings liberalism and Christianisation."A random study that was done shows that almost 80% of K-pop artists were Christians. The rest are atheist, Buddhists or believed in animism."The flooding of Korean dramas in TV stations in Malaysia has also contributed to the craze of teenage girls towards these artists," he said in a statement.Zamri said parents should be watchful of their children to ensure that they are not caught up with the K-pop culture.Commenting on a video which showed three tudung-clad Muslim fans being hugged by K-pop artistes at a concert last week, the deputy mufti said that the girls should repent and vow never to repeat their mistake."Adopt the cultures which are good from Koreans, like being hardworking and others."Don't let your actions be slanderous to other Muslimah who wear tudung. Women who wear the tudung should take care of their dignity. Indeed, a Muslimah who is honourable in Islam does not need to stoop to the humiliation of their lust," he said. The video, which was posted on the Facebook page of Sukan Star TV with the title "Perempuan melayu dicabul atas pentas oleh mat kpop semalam" has since received much attention and criticisms from those who have ticked off the girls for allowing themselves to be embraced and the artistes for doing so.Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (Isma) had also weighed in on the incident, saying that this proved that the "violent currents of liberalism", which gives in to wants and lusts, is the main focus of the girls in the video. It said that the issue, which has tainted Islam, will continue if human rights lawyers continue to fight for what they believed in."They will fight and criticise any agency that has been set up to enforce the law that restricts the wants of individuals because for them, the agency will stop the trend from continuing to expand."Jakim has come up with a guideline on entertainment among Muslims since 2007 but the current trend of liberalism seems to think that the guidelines restrict an individual's freedom," it said. – January 12, 2015.
